RZR Pro R 4 vs Xpedition
The RZR Pro R 4 Ultimate is the fast, open sport machine: 225 horsepower, four seats and 27 to 29 inches of suspension travel. The Xpedition ADV NorthStar is the enclosed one: a sealed cab with heat and air conditioning, five seats, a winch and a hitch. The winner picks either.

Picking between them
You don't have to decide now. The winner chooses after the drawing, and either machine comes with $5,000 cash. If you're already leaning one way, it probably comes down to this: the RZR is for going fast in the open air, and the Xpedition is for riding when the weather turns.
Pick the RZR Pro R 4 Ultimate if…
- You ride dunes, desert or fast open trails and want the power: a 225 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
- You want the long-travel, semi-active suspension (DYNAMIX DV with FOX 3.0 Live Valve X2 shocks, 27 inches of travel up front and 29 in back).
- You ride with up to three passengers and don't need a cab or climate control.
- You want the bigger screen and the louder stereo: 10.4" Ride Command and Rockford Fosgate Stage 4 audio.
Pick the Xpedition ADV NorthStar if…
- You want to ride in January: the NorthStar cab is fully enclosed with glass, a wiper and zoned heat and air conditioning.
- You carry up to four passengers, or fold the rear bench flat for gear.
- You need it for work too: a 4,500 lb winch, 2" hitch, 2,000 lb towing and a 600 lb covered cargo box come standard.
- You'd rather have comfort and range than top speed.
What's standard and what's an add-on
The two machines take opposite approaches. The RZR Pro R 4 Ultimate puts its money into speed and suspension: the half doors, aluminum roof and heated and vented front seats are standard, but a windshield, upper doors, cab heat and a winch are not. The Xpedition ADV NorthStar puts its money into the cab: full doors, glass, heat and air conditioning, audio and the winch are already there, and things like a plow and extra lighting are the add-ons.
Both are ordered new through Ocean County Powersports in Toms River, New Jersey, and prepped by their team before handover.
The short version
The RZR is the fast, open one. The Xpedition is the enclosed one you can use all year. Either way it's the same $5,000 cash and the same drawing, and you choose after you've won.
